Founded in 2005 by native Calgarian Jason Manna, Van Manna Homes has been a beacon of quality and dedication in Calgary's custom home-building industry. Jason's passion for construction was ignited during his teenage years, working on various family projects. This early exposure, combined with a background in finance, led him to establish Van Manna Homes, turning his lifelong passion into a thriving business.

Jason has built his team with like-minded professionals in design, architecture, engineering, and technical build support, as well as an amazing client care team behind the scenes and on-site with clients.

Building Dreams: A Q&A with Jason Manna

  • I grew up in a family where we fixed and built everything ourselves, including our family homes. I was fortunate to learn the ropes of carpentry and construction from such a young age that it was engrained in me early on in life, which led to my passion of constructing well built, beautiful homes.

  • My vision was to create a home-building experience that was as enjoyable and stress-free as possible for our clients. I wanted Van Manna Homes to be known for exceptional service, transparency, and truly listening to what homeowners want – I felt there was a gap in the industry at the time I started the company

  • It really is the story of evolution. Van Manna Homes has grown in stages. In the early years, it was about proving ourselves, building a reputation, and delivering exceptional homes. The first big leap was expanding our team and developing land and a subdivision north of Calgary. Bringing in talented people who shared the same passion for craftsmanship was key. Over time, we refined our processes, took on larger projects, and invested in coaching to strengthen our business strategy. Every milestone has been about growth, learning, and staying committed to the highest standards in custom home building.

  • As a company, we have many. But the most rewarding is always turning homes over to our amazing clients and hearing from them throughout the years of how they continue to enjoy their home. This never gets old.

  • I wouldn’t say there is a secret, however we pride ourselves on not over-leveraging, not taking on more projects than we can handle and keeping an intimate team and business approach, many companies strive only for growth in dollars and ego. This was never the goal. It was always about providing that personal experience, top qualify product care and attention to each client. Keeping the business intentionally controlled has allowed us to maintain these standards.

  • The thrill of building something from the ground up—and the fact that I can schedule my own coffee breaks… although they still seem far and few between!

  • Buy more real estate, more land and fewer unnecessary gadgets!

  • Most of all, we are committed to continuing to build homes that stand the test of time—homes that not only reflect the dreams of our clients but also contribute to the communities we serve.
